Hello,
I recently purchased a house with the ADEMCO LYNX-R installed.
I accidently armed the system and cannot disarm or re-set it. The code was forgotten by the previous owner since he never used it and there was no external monitoring.
What do I do to get a useable code to turn it "off"?
Thanks,
Jimger

First unplug the backup battery pack, then unplug the ac power transformer. Wait a few moments, plug the AC power back in.
Within 50 seconds, press * + # at the same time. This should kick the unit into program mode.
Press #20 -- The panel will display the installer code one digit at a time. You will need this code to change the master code.
Exit program mode by entering *99; it should no longer be armed.
Reconnect the battery.
In run mode, enter Installer Code + 8 + 02 + (new)4-digit Master Code.
Test your code by trying to turn on and off the chime function.

Thanks for the info, but it did not work. I guess the panel is beyond repair unless you have another idea.
Sincerely,
Jimger

Make sure you are disconnecting both battery and AC power before you try the bootstrap. The final gambit you can try is holding down * + # while power is applied. This bypasses the lockout on many Honeywell/Ademco systems.
