Been a lurker for awhile and have been able to diagnose and solve all my other problems while maintaining lurker status, but now I have a problem I can't figure out. I installed a DSC 832 system with a LCD5500Z keypad a few months back. I'm currently using 11 zones (4 motions, 5 door contacts and 2 glass breaks) on Partition 1. The system worked fine since I installed it in March, so I decided a couple of weeks ago it was time to start monitoring. I use VoIP at home and signed up with nextalarm.com. I got all the phone numbers programmed in and set all the codes for my setup. Upon testing, everything worked great! All the codes were sent and received as they should be.

Finally, after all the background, here's my question. Since I programmed in the numbers and codes for monitoring, now when I set the alarm in stay mode at night I get some extra beeping from the keypad. I hold down the stay button for a couple of seconds and the keypad beeps like always then begins the exit countdown. After the exit countdown completes, the keypad beeps about 6 times rapidly again (like a chime when a door is opened) and then after 25 seconds it beeps about 5 times rapidly again. The extra beeps after the coundown and the 25 seconds didn't happen before. Have I got something programmed wrong? Everything still seems to work just fine, I just now have the extra beeping going on.

It's an obscure setting that nextalarm must activate in their remote programming: Closing Confirmation, if enabled, will cause the keypad to beep 10 times rapidly after the closing reporting code has been successfully transmitted to central station.
