I just installed ceramic tile and 1/4" backerboard. I got the No. 35B Wax Extender kit. It is supposed to be for when the floor flange is 1/4 to 1 inch lower than the finished floor but it still seems too short. I am at about an inch low on the flange. The seal makes contact with the closet flange but it isn't enough wax to compress.

Can I get an additional wax ring (minus flange) and install it and then the extender kit piggy back or do they make a larger extender kit. Thanks.

Marty, after you install the extender, you are still an inch short? If it is fairly flush, you could try using a #11 wax seal with a bell. It is somewhat thicker, and better to use than two wax seals, as doubling the seals can result in one slipping on the other. If you double anything, double the extender rings since they seal against each other with adhesive, but you shouldn't have to with the #11.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot.
