Hello,

I have a 20 year old gas furnace that has seen better days. Now when i turn it on for air conditioning season i am hearing a loud knocking sound coming from the bottom of the unit.

Thoughts on what this could be?

Shut it down and remove the access panel. If it's belt driven that is probably all it is. If it's direct drive check for a foriegn object in the blower wheel or broken motor mounts.
