how do i start and what will i need to have them grow as good as possiable?so far i layed the top soil and put them in the ground

That's about it. You can get some veggy dirt or food for them. Just keep'm watered. Do you have cages for them ??

not yet,they are about 1ft.in height so far

You should probably get a soil test done so you know what and how to feed them.
