I have a 3 bdrm ranch with central air. With all ceiling vents open, the vent nearest the outside unit reads 48 F. With all vents closed the vent nearest the outside unit reads 42 F. What is considered a GREAT temp reading?

Great would be 20 degrees below the inlet temp. I think the pro's look for something like 15-17 degree drop as optimal.
