I am pondering the removal of the carpeting from our cement floor and replacing with either a vinyl tile or ceramic tile. The area is a finished walk out "basement". Yes, we have a sump pump and the floor is a "floating" floor. The reason for removing the carpeting is due to dampness. No, the carpet has never been under water. Just seems to hold too much dampness.

I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations.
