Hi, I have a beaumark dryer (GE) and it's not drying like it use to. Before, clothes would dry after 1 cycle, now it would take 3 to 4 cyles to dry. What peice should I change to fix this. Thanks

It may not be a part that needs replacing, but a part that needs cleaning out. The vent pipe. After a while, lint will build up in the pipe and not allow the moisture to exit the house. This results in the dampness staying in the dryer and taking longer to dry. Try that first. Good luck.

Well, I have never seen a Beaumark dryer but I am familiar with GE dryers. On the older model GE dryers, they have a dual element behind the drum instead of the single element in newer models. On the older models, if one of the elements burns out the other element will still heat, but the dryer will not get hot enough to dry the clothes efficently.

Just another possibility to what majakdragon said about the vent pipe which is also a very common problem. The lint buildup could also be in the dryer itself. If you take the hose off the back of the dryer and turn it on, you should get a fairly strong flow of air out the back of the dryer. Then, compare that to the flow of air exiting the house.

Hope this helps...
