I purchased a new Frigidaire dishwasher. My old one has a plug but the new one is hard wired. The guy from Lowe's told me that this is now standard. He also handed me a wire-to-plug convert cable.

I looked down at the new dishwasher. It has just two wire; a black and a white. The wire-to-plug convert cable that I have has 3 wires; one hot, one neutral and one green for ground.

After I connected the two wires and plug the cable into the wall recepticle, the dishwasher power is turn on. But, where should I connect the green wire to? Right now it is hanging loose and not connected to anything.

There should be a screw on the frame of the dishwasher near to the hot and neutral wires. Possibly green in color. It may even say "ground" near it.

This is where you attach the ground wire.
