I have a trouble code 1 on my system and i have been lead to believe that it is probably the rechargable system backup battery(5 years old). Can I replace this without disconnecting the AC power?
Many Thanks

Yes. depending on the number of devices you have connected will determine the battery required. Usually home alarms have a 12volt 4 amp hour battery. Around here there 35$ and they arnt hard to find.
If you have alot of motions, then you might want to consider using a 12volt 7amp hour battery.
