We wish to install wood laminate floor in our cabin that is only used from May till November. The cabin is unoccupied and unheated the remainder of the year. The cabin is located near Yellowstone Park and thus the temperature drops to or below freezing for much of the winter.

We have heard that this may cause a problem with the flooring.

Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of this type of application?

Laminate would be a bad choice. The onlything that will hold up and not be effected by a closed up cabin, would be concrete. Even carpet will have issues.
