Redoing our kitchen and the flooring is now homicite. What kind of wood floor can we put on homicite or do we have to go with laminate?

I think they mean Homasote. It is mearly a soundproofing agent about 1/2" thick. Remove it and replace it with plywood and install any floor you like.
