Kitchen Large Electric Appliances - Need QUICK help - cabinet depth & dishwasher 22 7/8 machine -are 24" cabinets a MUST?

I hope some folks in the know will respond really quick - we need some advice. We live in a 1950's house and our kitchen counters are 22 7/8" deep. The dishwasher we want is 22 7/8 inch deep (Thermador), but the specs for the dishwasher call for 24" cabinets. I looked all over the place for a dishwasher that wasn't 24" in physical size itself because I knew we didn't have 24" cabinets, but now the specs for this dishwasher are calling for 24' cabinets anyway!

How much room is actually needed at the back of a dishwasher? Is the extra one and one eighth of an inch that important if the physical machine will fit? Will this work??

Please if you know anything about this, will you please reply? We only have until tomorrow morning to make up our minds about what to do. eeks! Thanks in advance!!

If it fits it will work. It doesn' matter if the back of the dishwasher touches the wall behind it. Worst case it may stick out a little, but it is better than washing by hand.
