Trying to shorten the exit /entry time from the default set times.
I entered sec. 005 but am lost from there.
The panel shows 1, but i am unsure what it represents or what to enter to shorten the times.

Also the "stay" function is not working (away works fine)
I know it is default but if it was somehow turned off how would
I turn back on?

Thanks

While there is a way to step to just the entry you are trying to change in section 005, it's just easier to enter the data for all of the slots.

Go to program
Go to section 005
The defaults are
030 entry 1
030 entry 2
120 exit
004 bell time out (in minutes)

Just enter the number of seconds you need for each entry, in order. (Yes the default exit time on DSC panels is huge) Just remember you need leading zeros (these are 3 digit entrys; 60 seconds would be entered as 060).

Most local laws these days require 5 minute or less shut down times on audible security alarm sounders.

The stay function works by bypassing interior zones programmed as stay/away (zone types 05 and 06). If your interior zones aren't bypassing, then you probably have them set for the wrong zone type. Also remember, when you arm the panel in stay mode, even though the countdown timer doesn't sound, it still times the exit delay time programmed before the system is actually armed.

If you mean the quick activation key on the keypad; it defaults to on, but if you were trying to alter the function key programming in section 000, you may have set it to null or to a different function.
