Hello,

Due to a construction fault in our home, our unfinished basement has only ~8.5" distance to the wall. (I think the wall was supposed to be 2-4" further away, but it now contains other drain pipes) :mask:
Is there a way - w/o breaking - to get a toilet for this space?
One good thing is, I could put a tank IN the wall, the wall thickness is 8x2s, although it is against a bedroom wall.
I would like to avoid cutting in the concrete if not needed, but alas, that might be the only option...

Any idea's?

Thanks,

Maurice

Fault, I guess. Are you measuring from the rim of the flange or the center of the hole? It should measure about 12" from the center of the hole to the finished wall. There are offset flanges on the market, but they won't help much in your situation with a concrete floor. I agree that making an indented wall would be better than cutting concrete, but you may also find a shallow close fit toilet that would fit boo boos.

If you mean that the toilet drain is 8½" from the wall, an offset flange and a 10" toilet will probably fit. Toto make a 'UniFit rough-in' that will adjust to 10", and there are probably other 10" toilets floating around. I would get a 10" toilet and see if it will squeeze in there before installing the offset flange; you might get lucky.
