First I'd like to thank this forum for past responses that proved very helpfull. My latest project is to install a plasma screen over a working 1920s fireplace. I am locating electric and cable runs and plan to carve them into the wet plaster wall then cover it with 1/4" drywall for a clean finish. Would Durabond trowelled on to the drywall adhere to the old plaster sufficiently or should I use drywall adhesive from a tube? My thought is better coverage with Durabond and it may hold up to the heat better than the glue, just not sure of the adhesion.
Thanks Much.

As long as the plaster isn't dusty duraabond should adhere fine.
