I have an oil fired combi boiler that has been getting through a lot of oil. I can't find a leak, but over the past few days the vent has been giving off black smoke, which smells like amonia.

Any ideas anyone?

Shut it off & call a service person well aquainted with oil fired equipment. Your boiler is probably plugged or nearly so.
