My wife called me last night at work and said the washing machine is on the outs. Well after waking up this morning I noticed that during the first stage of the wash cycle when the agitator is going I hear a whinning/grinding noise. It appears the spin cycle is working correctly and the belts are fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is the sound coming from the inside of basket... or is it louder below.... if above it would be the tub seal/bearing ($100-125) in pts... if below the brake assembly and bearing (100-125) in pts...
