I have my shower walls down to the studs. I will be using a cement backer board for the tile. My question is do I need to use a vapor barrier?
On another forum someone suggested to use a 10 mil poly, I have read on this board a vapor barrier is not necessary if used on inside walls.
I understand that CBU is very durable and will withstand moisture very well.
Is the use of 10 mil poly overkill? Can anyone offer a professional opinion?
Thank you

10 mil may be overkill, but a vapor barrier is a good idea, "just in case". You don't want to be down the road 5 years, and have a problem of moisture that you could have prevented.
