My hot water shower handle gets more difficult to turn off every day. My wife cannot even turn it hard enought o turn it all the way off. My stems were replaced about 4 months ago. Any ideas? I saw somewhere tha said it could just be a tight packing nut. Do I need to do anything more than taking the handle off to get to the nut? Thanks

Taking the handle off will be enough to remove the nut. The packing may well be too much or too tight. In the same note, go to a pool supply house and buy a little vial of pool pump lubricant and place some on the inner works of the stem. This will let the guts move more freely and will not wash off.

i loosened the packing nut and that didnt do any good. any other ideas? thanks!!
