The tank on my toilet broke and I went and got a new tank and installed it on my old bowl. My problem is the flapper that raiseson lowers when flushed. I can not get it to adjust to where it will stay up long eneough for the toilet to flush. Now, the toilet is 30 years old and the tank is new. Is it possible that the tank is to small for the bowl? Any sugestions appreciated.

What you have purchased is a 1.6 gallon flush tank and put it on a 5 gallon toilet. It will not flush, no matter what you do. You will probably have to go back and buy the matching base for the unit. I am stuck with a similar choice, as my house was built in '78 with one bath harvest gold and the other avocado. Puke. But I will have to change out everything when I do it, and it will probably be in bone or white. Also consider the 17 1/2" high bases. Alot more comfortable and handicapped rated.

Thanks for the reply Chandler. I figured that was probably it but wanted to be sure before I spent the bucks. Thanks again.
