4 year old speed queen oven. When oven is lit there is no noise. oven warms to temp with no problem yet when it cycles off, I can hear a mini boom, whoosh sound coming from the oven. Is this a problem and if so, who do I contact - gas fitter? appliance repair. Certain repair person certified to deal with gas???:confused: :confused:

The sound may be caused by poorly adjusted air control on the burner. However, and more frequently, it is a split burner.

Immediately inspect your burner for damage and wear. When it burns you should see blue flames with just a little flicker of yellow on the tips. Anything more and you can suspect that your air adjustments are way out of adjustment or the burner is bad.

If in doubt call a qualified appliance repairman. I hear Maytag repairmen as usually available. :)
