Hi,
I got those 2-in-1 underlayment (vapor barrier + foam).

Two stupid questions:
1) is the "shiny/smooth" side the vapor barrier ?
2) which side of the underlayment should face the subfloor ?

Thanks a lot !!

What side is the stick tape adhesive on? Whichever side it's on, it should be facing up (on top).

(I had the Quickstep 2 in 1 underlayment and the wording (logo stuff) and the stick tape adhesive was on top.)

thanks.. I think I've got the answer after some research. I have the "generic" underlayment from eurolaminate.com. The smooth side is the vapor barrier. There is no logo or adhesive tape. But after some research, it seems that the vapor barrier will be facing the subfloor, and the foam (padding) will face the laminate flooring... I hope that's correct.

That sounds correct since moisture (if any) comes from the subfloor.

Tape the seams with clear packing tape, or it won't be a moisture barrier.
