I was working at my computer when I heard water loudly running in the bath next to my room. Knowing I hadn't left any water on, I went to check it out and discovered it was the toilet. I have been unable to cut off the cut-off valve to the toilet---it is stuck or closed so tightly I can't cut it off. The toilet has been running like this for a number of hours---the noise is really loud and getting on my nerves lol. No water is flowing into the bowl that I can see, but I can't see that it is flowing anywhere else either. What do you think could be causing this? Is there anything I can do to stop the running until I can get a plumber here in the morning? HELP!!!!!!! lol
At least, I can still laugh---but not much longer.

Have you taken the top off the tank and looked inside? It is possible the flapper is stuck in the up position allowing the toilet to run. If you can't turn off the wall valve, you need to either replace the valve or the seat washer inside it. Either way you will have to turn off the water to the house. You may be in the market for a new toilet control unit as well. Post back if we can help further.
