I purchased my home this past December. The deck is partially covered. The decking on the exposed part has started to crack and these extend into the wood about half an inch in places. The deck is painted and I want to repaint it to stop the wood from deteriorating further. My question is after I sand off the old paint, do I have to fill the cracks?
