wiil it hurt to run twin cylinder engine on one cylinder? really need to mow before i get fixed.

The unburned fuel will cause problems. Just forget about limping it along on one cylinder. Get it fixed.

Yes, you should fix it first. But, you can run it as is. You will not cause any harmful damage. You will merely send unburnt fuel through the cycle. You will likely create excessive carbon build-up in the suspect cylinder's combustion chamber. And, you may hear a bang ocassionally when the fuel hits the hot muffler. If the muffler is in rough shape, the explosion of fuel could rip the muffler apart. Obviously, you will have a noticeable power loss.
