I'm attempting to replace one honeywell with a programmable honeywell(RTH230B). I have five wires from the wall and all five were connected to the old one (W-White, Y-Yellow, G-Green, R-Red and C-Blue). When I hooked up the new one I put W-White, Y-Yellow, G-Green, Rh - Red, and Rc - Blue. With the new one the furnace works fine, but when I switch it over to cool the thermostat clicks but never blows any air. Any suggestions?

The Blue wire is a common from the transformer.
Remove the blue wire and jump the rc to rh with the red and you will be fine.
The new honeywell is what they call a power stealing tstat it has no need for a common in this case.

Remove the Blue wire and jump RH to RC you do not need the Blue wire.
Older t-stats sometimes needed a common

Hey, I was having a similar problem to this and I found my answer on Thermostats from Venstar, Honeywell, Carrier - HVAC-Outlet.com (http://www.HVAC-Outlet.com). They have a customer service number too it's 866-991-HVAC. It's nice cause you actually get to speak to a real person. Check it out:)
