I also have a vibration problem in my 4 1/2 yr.old Maytag washer. In the spin cycle, it actually slams against the sides and tries to walk out the door. I was a major appliance servicer for many years. This machine acts like an unbalanced load even when balanced. It is level on the floor. I replaced all the springs holding the tub. The problem still exists.

on the whirlpool did you lift the back until you hear a click? tilt back to you until loud click thats the self leveling legs setting.
Maytag as a problem with tub hitting sides. With machine off is the basket leaning to one side? there is a kit with springs and snubber, snubber goes between tub assy and base. Have also had to change base once to stop shaking
