I messed up! I bought a set of new chairs that I decided to protect with scotchguard but did not think of doing it before assembling the chairs  . I did wipe the access overspray from the polish but it showed right through after about an hour. I tried wiping it off with the “Orange Glow”, it worked fine while I was wiping it, but when stuff dried out a bit, white stains showing right through again. Any suggestions that do not involve sanding and restraining the chairs? Thanks!

scotchgarding pretty much dries as s polymer..this is going to require a solvent..i would try rubbing alocohol first..then mineral spirits
either way this may damage the finish..which would require restaining

Test any DIY cleaning method in inconspicuous place first for ill effects. If finish is lacquer mineral spirits should provide success. If in doubt, call the Consumer Service number on the label.
