This is a new unit that was installed and used all last summer and was fine. Turning it on this year and when the condensor is on and running cool it is fine, but as soon as it shuts off and just the fan blows it smells horrible. It almost smells like death or sometimes urine. What could this be and how do we get rid of it? It smells up the whole room! We have tried spraying it with air freshner but it only masks it for a little bit.:wall: This is a brand new unit! Any ideas? Help is appreciated!
Thanks Jon

I would suggest removing it from the window and take it outside. Remove the cabinet and hose it out good. Try to avoid the electronics.

like he said take it out side and remove the cover and hose it down let it dry in the sun before pluging it in and running it you could have old water in it from last year when you put it back in make shure to angle the front end down just about a 1/2 inch to make sure it drains water stinks when it gets old drive by an old sewer and you'll smell what i mean:D
