When runiing the water in my bathroom sink as it drains a rotten egg smell is emitted, any ideas?

As posted in other areas, you may have bacteria built up in the overflow part of the sink. Fill the sink with water. Carefully pour bleach in the overflow hole. This should help eliminate the bacteria, and thusly the smell. Is the sink sluggish when it drains? If so, it could be the vent is stopped up, but my bet is on the bacteria thing.
