Kitchen Large Electric Appliances - Whirlpool dishwasher won't fill with water?

I have today purchased a whirlpool dishwasher and plumbed it all in but it won't fill with water. I checked the manual but that doesn't even tell you how to put it in. I checked online and it says it is cold fill only so have plumbed into cold water supply but still nothing. Hope someone can help, if not I will have to contact shop and/or whirlpool.

It is a Whirlpool Electronic Dishwasher ADP 4502. I have tried what I can and followed the troubleshoot leaflet. The start light flashes which means there is something wrong somewhere.

Please help.

Check for power to the fill valve,,, if there is power then check line to ensure water is flowing to valve... over here we hook to hot water cause cold water does not desolve the soap well and does not clean well either
