can i replace the condenser fins that are damaged and missing due to dog urinating against outdoor a/c unit. is this a diy project. unit is by amana.

I think it is probably beyond the diy stage due to tools and equipment required. Not a cheap job either. If the unit is more than a few years old you would probably be better off replacing the whole condensing unit.

I dont think you will save that much power on the seer of the unit to fix them. If its a seer of 10 or lower Id get a new unit there. For now hose out all the rest of the fins and make sure they are clean.

We had ours replaced. The last home owner had a dog, and the York was only 4 years old. Coils was a goner, and also must of beena leak at one time.
It was cheaper for me to replace the unit than fixing the coil..
