I would like to start mudding and taping the new basement drywall. I've always been curious as where to start. The ceiling; I know! But, corners or seams? To me it really does not matter after it all said and done.

Rob: I hate sheetrock, but when I have to do it, I start w/ the ceiling joints and then the wall/ceiling corner. This gets rid of the biggest pita. I progress to the wall corners, then the wall seams. But, like you say, it doesn't matter.

It is not so much as where you start, butt (pun) what you do first, second, and third.
I start with all of the butt joints first, as that tape will end at an angle or at a factory edge. Next I do the factory edges, as they will end at a corner, and hold down the end of the butt joint tape. Then I do the angles (corners), as that will hold down the ends of the rest of the tape.
Following, I do the corner bead, as that covers the end of the other tape.
My .02. I hope this helps.
