I've read here that I should go with the XL800. My dealer is recommending the XL600.

Any thoughts on this one way or the other?

The XL800 is backlit - which is great for late nights when you need to check the thermostat - then again, that might not happen so often with a new system...

The 600 and 800 are single stage control, I hope that they are putting in either the 602 or 802?

I have the Honywell version of the 802, and I love it.

Why?
-Back lit on all times, good night light in the hall way. (common wire is needed) also you can see the temp/settings at a glace, than tap a button to turn on the back light.

-Fan control, I can program the fan do what ever at diffent cycles.

this what I do,

Summer,
Awake, gone, home, fan in Auto.
Sleep, fan on On.

Winter,
Awake, gone, home, fan in ON
Sleep, fan on Circ.

The Circ options turns the fan on and off at ramdon to help move the air around, but not steady.

FYI, on the XV90, the blower runs 50% of the noraml speed, so you will not hear the blower running, and draft is very soft, almost don't notice the fan is on. With the fan on, it's great keeping the temp even in the home, and filtering the air all times. I have split level and temps in all the room and lower area is with in a degree from each other.

-VERY EASY to program! Even my mom can do it! in the past my parents had the basic program system, and it was always on HOLD! She could never figure out how to do it. I put the touch screen, and mom loves it! lol She can now program it.

-Lazy-boy programing.. You can pop this off the wall, and program it in your chair... Not standing on your head with bi-focal glasses, and flash light! (Well, maybe it was abit extream.. hehe)

The items I've mention above is not on the 602.

Looks like an 802 for us...
