Is it possible for the do it yourselfer to buy the materials and do a decorative coating on a driveway. I see many driveways in the area where they spread a mixture over the concrete and put a stone pattern in it. They sprinkle a color coating material over it and then seal the whole deal. I'm pretty handy and would like to try it but don't know of a source for the materials to the publc.

This is one of those things where the scale of the project is often too big for a diy'er. You may find it's actually cheaper to get a pro to do it because they have the tools, crew and expertise to do it quicker and better than you. By the time you find all the right materials, special tools if any, research, it may be a big hassle.
