Hello,
I need to repair my brick foundation. My house was built in 1923. The drainage problems around my house have been corrected, so I'm going to try and tackle the foundation myself.
I have several questions:1. Do I need to use the same mix that they did in 1920? or can I use new morter?
2. I am assuming I cisel all the crumbling morter off and then use a trowle or morter bag to fill in the cracks, do I need to clean the evervesance (excuse my spelling) off before I re morter with a chemical solution? or is getting rid of the old morter good enough? 3. would dry lock or something similar put over the repaired morter keep the foundation in good repair longer?
4. Do I need to put anything over the repaired morter and bricks, such as products the home stores sell, or are they a waste of time?
5. Can I use concrete insted of morter?
Thank you
