I have an ADT Safewatch Pro 3000 system. Have 2 keypads (a 2 line alpha and fixed alpha), want to add a 3rd keypad (type 6150, fixed alpha). I went looking in the brain box and found the 4 terminals where keypads connect. Those same 4 terminals also connect to a wireless receiver used for a few scattered sensors.
Looks like I just add the fourth set of wires to those terminals following the color code to add the new keypad. Is that correct? Once I hook it in, what do I have to do to activate the keypad? I don't have a clue about programming or addressing but I assume these are needed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

This is a two step deal: First, set the keypad address. If you are buying a new keypad, the addressing instructions will be in there. If not, they are pretty simple: Press 1+3 within 50 seconds of applying power to the keypad. Enter the new address (which will probably be 18), press *.
Next is a bit more complicated: You will need to enter system programming, and enter *191+1+0, this will activate keypad slot #3 at address 18. Exit programing with *99, and that should do the trick.

I have the 3000 system too. I bought a keypad on eBay. I called ADT too see if they would help me program the new keypad. They said "call eBay for tech support". I set the address to 18. 16 is the first keypad and 17 is the wireless. after I hit the * key the screen goes blank and I can't get any further. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Figured it out. I had to go to the main keypad and enter the programming mode first and enable *192 01 on the first keypad. I kept trying to do the *192 on the new keypad. Awsome forum. Thanks for the help!

I have a Safewatch Pro 3000. How do I get in the box to change the system battery? I just got the house and they did not leave a key to the box.

It's a standard Honeywell/Ademco key. Usually it's left on top of the box, tucked under the edge of the door. If you know anyone who has any Ademco style panel like this, their key will fit. Otherwise, it's a cheap cabinet lock. A flat screwdriver and a strong wrist will do the trick.
