I bought a wood (cedar, redwood, can't remember the type) playset for the kids and the instructions said to apply a "non toxic wood sealant".

seemed simple enough until I went to the hardware store and looked in the polyurethane section and the olympic/thompsons water seal section and nothing says "non toxic" on it,

any recommendations?

thks,

-MC

Just "google" non toxic wood sealants, and bingo, http://www.soyclean.biz/wood_sealer.asp

thanks.

I was hoping to be able to pick it up at the local hardware store (i.e. save shipping charges) but this is good

Try your local paint stores.

I wouldn't think that any coating is non toxic but latex coatings are definetetly less toxic than their solvent based counterparts. A paint rep at a paint store should be able to provide more specific info than most anyone at a big box store.
