We currently have a Brinks home security system (BHS3000 I think) with a monthly subscription w/ Brinks.
I'd like to add an additional keypad to the system. Brinks wants $155 to do it - but I can find the keypad online for a fraction of the cost.
Will I need a "Plug-In Programmer" to configure the new keypad to my security code? Or will the new keypad pull in this setting from the control panel its wired to?
Thanks for your help!

The keypad is just an interface, however it may need to be addressed or "learned" into the system.
Brinks hardware is pretty propriatory, and the end user has very limited ability to make major system changes.
