I am about to start the process of rebuilding my steps and walk. I currently have a set of steps that curve around to the left from ground level. From the ground level to the upper walk there is a difference of 84" in height. There is currently 10 steps that vary in from 5 1/2" to 8" in height for the rise and they vary in run from 21" to 27" making this very akward to traverse . I would like to keep the same general shape but make them all a uniform rise/run. Do I need to completely demolish the existing steps and then form the new ones with a uniform rise/run? Would I be better off using a landing with a 90 degree turn rather than trying to form a curve as the inside of the step would be narrower than the outside of the step. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you speaking of concrete or pavers? Either way, I think a complete demo and rebuild is in order to get the correct rise/run. The choice of a 90 degree landing or curve depends upon your forming/finishing skills. Straight runs are easier to form though. Good luck.

strictly thinking of poured concrete, my skills are not of a level to do pavers.
