I tore down some walls in my house and found workers and swarmers and what looked like soldiers and queens....
Anyway, I went to lowes to get spray and barrier products and this guy told me about a friend of his.
Anyway I let the guy come out and he said he would drill holes 12 to 16 inches apart into the block foundation and pump in 200 gallons of prelude mix at 2% for $500 bucks plus treat the soil around the house with the same chemical.
He has already drilled the holes and is supposed to pump today. However based on the research I have done im having a problem believing prelude is going to do the trick.
Seems it is a repellant and doesnt kill them?
Before he gets here I am digging out around the foundation to get a better barrier plus i have bait stations to place around the perimeter of the home.
Does my approach sound like it will take care of the problem?
I dont think this guy is licensed cause when I asked him where a person can get that stuff he said any farmer...
Thoughts?

Prelude is a termiticide product available to licensed exterminators. You may want to see the license and get references. In addition, there should be a written contract and warranty.

totally agree with twelvepole, make sure also that this guy isn't trying to run a side job to fill his pockets. the company should
offer a gauranty, as well produce a certification that he is qualified to do the work. i also hope that you are aware that the
mis-application of pesticides, in any form, is against federal law.
be careful of the cheap/quick fix is all i got to say on this subject.

Honestly you really should use a licensed insured professional exterminator."Some guy at Lowe's" is a disaster waiting to happen. You have no recourse if anything goes wrong here.Termites are not a minor issue and should be dealt with appropriately.
