Half of my patio is cement and the other half is dirt. Is it better for flagstone to sit on concrete or dirt? If cement, than I'd have to spend 700 - $1000 to fill in the other half patio with cement? If dirt, than I'd spend no extra money other than breaking up the concrete. Once the decision is made, than I'd put flagstone on top. Also, another potential trouble is I only have a 2" clearance from existing cement to doorway.
