How big of a job is it to wheelbarrow 2.5 yards of concrete 70 feet across grass? Should I get a skid loader or a mechanical wheelbarrow for this?

We do it all the time. 2.5 yards is really not very much. Just make sure you've got a sturdy, contractor grade wheelbarrow. Plastic ones and the flimsy homeowner type can be almost unusable for this application. A power buggy would be even easier, but a skid loader would be overkill. Good luck.

let's see, 2 1/2 yards you say. There are 27 cubic ft. in a yard. In the normal contractor's wheel barrow is usually rated at six cubic feet of concrete. (Way too much for he average human to move in a wheel barrow) Realistically, let's say you will get 3 cubic feet per load. long story short. You will have about 20-24 trips across that sod for a complete concrete pour.

I would get 2x10s to run the wheelbarrows over, but it is doable, provided you don't mind hard work.

You have confirmed what I thought. I figured about 20 trips with a good wheelbarrow. Even if it takes 30 I can handle that. I think I will get 2 too cut down on time and work.
