Hi all,

I've been looking for a tree variety to plant in my back yard. I really like birch trees and have a been looking at planting a birch cluster towards the end of my back yard which gets quite a bit of son throughout the day. I should mention that I live in Ontario, Canada.

I've been reading that birches can be prone to desease. I was hoping to some insight/tips from a members of the forum and hear their experience with Birches.

Thanks,

Brian

You might check with the agriculatural extension service in your area for advice on trees for your locale. There may not be anything intrisically wrong with a birch, but the local experts will have more specific knowledge for your area.

Planting birches that are indigenous to your area should provide success. Yellow birches are grown in Canada. As indicated, check with your local agricultural department or arborist for recommended trees in your area.
