I have a back door which leads to a concrete slab, (uncovered "porch"). The slab measures 6 feet by 11 feet, 6 inches. What are my options as far as a "roof" for this porch area? I'd prefer to keep it somewhat simple as I may take on this job myself. I've seached google, but seem to only find roofs for house plans or shed plans. Thanks

Check with local awning company. There are also kits to create outdoor rooms. You can also thumb through the DIY books at the home centers for ideas for a project like yours.

I have customers who love their retractable awinings, and some are even motorized.
