Hi all -thought I'd share a tidbit I've found on deciding how to affix those pretty composites to your deck.
There are two basic choices -
Color-matched composite deck screws (e.g. Trap-ease) - these run about $150 for a 400 sq. ft. deck
or
A hidden fastener system (e.g. Tiger-Claw, Deck-Master, Eb-TY) - these run about $300 or more for a 400 sq. ft deck
I've read back and see that some of the board experts aren't thrilled with hidden fasteners and composites. There is more labor and cost involved - so thats a reasonable opinion. However, those opinions were issued about 1yr ago -
Can anyone recommend a hidden fastener system?
