I have a 2 year old Trex deck. After months of rain it has collected enough sediments and clogged many gaps and even collect water in many places.

Today I am out with putty knife and garden hose trying to clean it up. Boy it is a tough job :wall: I wonder how much gap the contract has left between the deck boards. I have a tough time try to drive the putty knife between the gap. Garden hose doesn't do much either. After spending an hour I may have cleared 10% of the area. Next week I may bring my hammer and putty knife and try to blast it under the deck. Just thinking about spending doing this every year is very discouraging. Any suggestion about this?

Unless it's extremely hot (110 or above) where you are right now, the contractor didn't gap the deck boards properly. If it's more like 50 degrees, there should be about 1/4" gap between the edges of the boards and about 1/8" to 3/16" at the ends. The only solution is to unscrew the boards and relay them with the proper gap. Not so sure that I would call THAT contractor back -- he obviously doesn't know composites.
