I just bought a 48" wide aguaglass shower...do I need to build a subframe to support my weight or do you just level/plumb and screw into studs? Thanks for any help!

This is a one piece shower...aquaglass has built in 2x4s fiberglassed in, but the shower still leans backward. Im going to level/plumb and add another split 2x4 where they supported....Im gonna add another 2x4 or two under the center off the shower after I install the drain assembly to support the center...If I am wrong in this please respond as I move with the quickness...:) Thanks for any help...Jack

Generally most of the modern showers are self supporting, but in your case with a tilted floor, you will need to level it up. Adding the extra support may tend to rub the fiberglas from underneath and cause premature failure. The factory installed support is rigid to the frame and won't move. The best method is to use a product like thinset to pour a "squishable" base prior to installing the shower unit. Tilt the shower in place and let the weight displace the thinset Try to estimate the amount you will need fairly carefully, as you don't want too much or too little. Post back if we can help further.
