I need to upgrade my Ademco 20PS panel that is using a 5881M, 16 zone receiver to a new 5881H, 64 zone unit. Do I just remove and replace it or do I have to reprogram my keys? I read the manual and I am not sure what they mean.
Thanks

I _think_ that the transmitter settings are actually stored by the panel itself, and the receiver is just an interface. Try just swapping them out. The worst that will happen is that you will have to relearn the existing transmitters.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try it over the weekend. I was going to guess that it did not store anything. Hope I do not have to do the learning again but I am getting sort of good at it.:coffee:

You were 100% correct. I installed the high capacity receiver and the sytem worked as before, only with increased zones.
Thanks:D
